You will be offered the next available appointment with your doctor or, if this is not acceptable you will be offered an alternative appointment with the GP Registrar or one of the other doctors.

Routine appointments are allocated 10 minutes of time.
If you feel that you only need to talk to a doctor then please ask for a telephone appointment.

Urgent Appointments

If you consider that you need to be seen the same day, you will be told that a doctor will ring you back, usually between 09.30 and 10.00, and you will be asked for a contact telephone number. Please ensure that you are available on that number to receive the doctor’s call. The doctor cannot keep on trying to contact you if your phone is engaged or unobtainable. The doctor will then discuss with you the problem in more detail and if the doctor considers that you need to be seen you will be offered an appointment for later that day.

Cancellations

If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can give this time to another patient.

Late Arrivals

Appointments are booked at 10 minute intervals. If you arrive late we cannot guarantee that you will be seen.
We aim to see you at your appointed time but please be patient, delays can happen, usually due to emergencies.

In accordance with the NHS Plan, we aim to offer everyone, when appropriate, an appointment with a doctor within two working days. We cannot guarantee that this will be with the doctor of your choice.

Evening Surgeries

These are for patients who have suddenly become ill or who are at work or school. If you do not fall into one of these categories please book into the weekday morning surgeries.

Appointments for Phlebotomy

If you require a blood test we operate an appointment system.

Emergency Contraception

We offer emergency contraception services by appointment. When requesting an appointment it is important that you tell the receptionist why you need a same day appointment. Your confidentiality will be maintained.
