visitor
- Julie Stoddart
Health Visitors are qualified
nurses who are specially trained to
advise on the care of children and
the elderly. They are also available
(no appointment necessary) at the
regular “baby” clinics held on the
first and third Tuesday of each
month and every Thursday. Dr. Maile
is also usually in attendance at the
Thursday morning clinics but can
only be seen by appointment.
midwife
- Jane
Quarton
Jane will share your
antenatal care with your doctor
and the hospital. She has a
weekly clinic at the surgery by
appointment and will provide
advice and support both during
your pregnancy and after the
birth of your baby.

- Angie
Pike
Joan Straw leads the
team of District Nurses who
will visit patients at home
when they are unable to
attend the surgery. The
District Nurses are
responsible for all aspects
of nursing care in the home.
This may range from basic
post-operative wound care
through to palliative
terminal care for those who
wish to die at home. The
service includes a full,
comprehensive assessment of
the individual’s needs,
supply of equipment and if
appropriate, referral can be
made to other agencies.
The District Nurses also run
a Continence Clinic at
Calverton and a Leg Ulcer
Clinic at both Arnold and
Carlton Health Centres.
The District Nurses can be
contacted directly at the
Calverton Clinic on 0115
9652560.
