When the Surgery is Closed
Please ring the surgery emergency number
(0115) 9652294 and you will be
directed to the out of hours number.
Out of hours emergency care is provided
by Nottingham Emergency Medical Services
(NEMS).
http://www.nottingham.nhs.uk/nhs-services/nems
You will be asked for details of the
patient and their condition. A nurse
will then call you so that a decision
about how to provide the most
appropriate care can be made. You may be
asked to attend the
NEMS building on Derby
Road. The out of hours service will make
the decision whether a home visit is
needed.
If you telephone from a call box, please
be sure to have an extra coin and pen
and paper to hand. If your home is
difficult to find please make sure you
give clear directions.
Covering greater Nottingham, the
Emergency Service looks after more than
a quarter of a million patients.
Sometimes the service can be extremely
busy so please be patient. In a real
emergency you should call an ambulance
but please do not do so just to avoid
waiting for a response from the
Emergency Service.
If you want advice regarding a medical
matter, NHS Direct is available 24 hours
a day on 0845 4647. If for any reason
you cannot access the surgery telephone
answering machine you can always ring
NHS Direct for advice.
The Walk-in centre may be
able to help you. Follow the link for
the services they provide.
