Also, are you aware of someone with a gambling problem? We are aware that with the rise of on-line services this is an increasing and often hidden problem. There is now an East Midlands Gambling Harms service. It is free to access on 0300 013 2330, www.eastmidlandsgambling.nhs.uk . They offer advice and support, workshops and therapy sessions and can help turn a gambling problem into something more manageable.

Might you need other support? You can now text NOTTS to 85258 to start a free, confidential text conversation with a trained volunteer. The texting is anonymous and will not appear on your phone bill. Issues such as Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Thoughts of suicide or self-harm, Abuse, Relationship concerns, Bullying, Panic Attacks and Loneliness can all be considered.

More specifically if you are a man being bullied, abused, humiliated, or controlled by a partner, ex-partner or family, help and advice is available. It’s a 9.30 to 4.30 service but with a 24hr confidential answerphone on 0115 960 5556, www.equation.org.uk/need-help

For woman in a similar predicament there is a free 24hr local helpline run by Juno Women’s Aid. Their number is 0808 800 0340, www.junowomensaid.org.uk
